Social media settings

Social media settings hold the link to each of your social profiles. Every social icon in Checkmate takes its link from here, so you enter each link once. In the editor sidebar, click Theme settings, then select Social media.

The Social media group lists one field for each network, starting with Facebook, X and Instagram. The footer shows an icon for each field with a link.

Networks

There is one field for each network: Facebook, X, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, Pinterest, Snapchat, Tumblr, Vimeo, LinkedIn, Threads, Discord, Twitch, WhatsApp, Telegram, Reddit and Bluesky. There is no field for any other network.

In each field, enter the full address of your profile, starting with https://, such as https://www.instagram.com/yourstore. To get it, open your profile in a browser and copy the address from the address bar.

A network with an empty field shows no icon. When you add Checkmate, four fields are already filled with the network's home page, not a profile: Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/), Instagram (https://www.instagram.com/), YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/) and TikTok (https://www.tiktok.com/). Replace each one with your own profile's address, or clear the field to hide its icon.

The icons show in the order of the fields, except that Instagram comes before X. Each icon opens your profile in a new browser tab.

  • Each Social links block shows an icon, a name, or both, for every network with a link. The Footer section has one in the middle of its bottom row, between the copyright line and the payment icons. You can add more to sections such as Popup, Offcanvas drawer, Contact form, Subscription and the Section section.
  • The phone menu, which opens from the Menu button in the Mobile bottom navigation section, shows the icons at its bottom. They show whenever at least one field has a link, and no setting hides them there.
  • The Photo wall section links its profile photo, Handle and Follower count to your Instagram link. Without an Instagram link, they show as plain text.
  • Every page of your store lists your links in hidden data for search engines, which tells them these profiles belong to your store.

A Social links block with no links to show is empty on your store. In the editor, it stays in place so you can select it.
