The Columns block puts the blocks inside it side by side in equal columns, one block per column. To add one, click Add block in a Section, Card rail, Contact form, Offcanvas drawer, Orbit, Share, Subscription or Video section, or inside a Group block or another Columns block, and select Columns under Layout. It comes with three Text blocks, one in each column.
To add a block to a column, click Add block under the Columns block in the editor sidebar. Any block that a section accepts can go inside, including a Group block or another Columns block. Each block fills one column, so to stack a heading and a paragraph in the same column, put them in a Group block first.
Every column has the same width. For blocks that keep their own width in one row, such as two buttons, use a Group block with Layout direction set to Horizontal.
Layout
Setting
What it does
Columns
The most columns in a row, from 1 to 6, and 3 by default. A column is never narrower than 176 px, so on a smaller screen the blocks move onto more rows. With fewer blocks than columns, the blocks keep their width and the rest of the row stays empty.
Gap
The space between the columns and between the rows, from None to 120 px. The default is 24 px.
Width
How wide the block is. Text column keeps it to a centered column up to 864 px wide. Page width, the default, matches Page width in Layout settings. Full width runs from edge to edge of the section. Inside a Group or another Columns block, it never grows past the space it has there.
Vertical alignment
How blocks of different heights line up in a row. Top, the default, starts each block at the top and stretches it to the height of the tallest one, so cards in a row end at the same line. Center lines them up by their middles, and Bottom by their bottom edges.
Stack vertically on mobile
Off by default. When it is on, screens narrower than 768 px show one block per row. When it is off, those screens show two blocks per row.
