Every popup has a link of its own, such as #Popup-newsletter. A button, a menu item or a link in text that points to it opens the popup when a customer clicks it, and the customer stays on the same page. The link works whatever the popup's Display timing, and it opens the popup even for customers who closed it before. To open the popup only this way, set Display timing to Manual only, as Add a popup explains.
In the editor sidebar, under Overlays, click Popup. The popup opens over the page in the preview.
In Popup handle, enter a short name, such as newsletter. The popup's link becomes #Popup-newsletter.
Click Save.
In the editor, the open popup shows its link at the top of its text, such as #Popup-newsletter. Click it to copy the link. Use the link exactly as it shows there, with a capital P: #popup-newsletter opens nothing. A name with spaces, such as Spring sale, gives a link with hyphens, #Popup-spring-sale.
If Popup handle is empty, the popup still has a link, but a long automatic one. The editor shows it in the same place.
In the editor sidebar, select the block or the section that holds the button, such as a Button block.
In Button link, enter the popup's link, such as #Popup-newsletter.
Click Save.
A link inside text works the same way: link the words to the popup's link.
Link a menu item to the popup
Add a menu item whose link is the popup's link, such as #Popup-newsletter. Set up your store menus explains how to add a menu item.
Open the popup on another page
To send customers to a page with the popup already open, add the popup's link to the end of the page's address, such as /collections/all#Popup-newsletter. The page loads, then the popup opens over it. In an email or an ad, use the page's full address with the popup's link at the end.
If the link opens nothing, check that it matches the one the editor shows, and that the Popup section is not hidden. My popup doesn't appear lists other causes.
