The Article section shows one blog post: its title, a line with the date, the reading time and the author, the featured image, and the text. It comes with the blog post template and can't be added to other pages. To change it, select the blog posts template at the top of the editor. The settings apply to every post. The page that lists a blog's posts is the Blog section.
The title and the date line follow the section's Alignment. The post's text sits in a column about 720 px wide in the middle of the page, and always lines up at the left.
Layout
Alignment places the title, the breadcrumbs and the date line at the left, in the center or at the right. Padding top, Padding bottom, Margin top and Margin bottom set the space around the section. Section layout settings describes them.
Page header
Breadcrumbs shows a trail with Home, the blog's name and the post's title. Above heading is the default. Below heading puts it under the title. Hidden removes it. The title always comes from the post, so this section has no Heading setting.
Content
Image ratio sets the shape of the featured image, which spans the width of the page with rounded corners. Natural, the default, keeps the image's own shape. Landscape is 16 by 9, Square is 1 by 1, and Portrait is 4 by 5. These three crop the image to fill the shape. A post with no featured image shows none.
Setting
What it does
Show share button
Adds a Share button at the end of the date line. It opens the share popup with the post's featured image, its title and the ways to share it. On by default.
Show table of contents
Lists the headings in the post's text, so readers can jump to one. On by default. It shows only when the post has at least two headings set to Heading 2 or Heading 3 in the post editor.
Table of contents heading
The title over the list. Leave it empty to show On this page. Shows when Show table of contents is on.
On screens 1000 px and wider, the table of contents sits to the right of the text and stays in view while the reader scrolls, with the heading they are reading marked. On smaller screens, it is a row above the text that opens the list when tapped.
Comments
When the blog allows comments, a Comments heading follows the text, with the published comments, ten to a page, and a form with Name, Email and Comment fields. The section has no setting for comments. Turn them on or off for each blog in your Shopify admin, as Shopify's guide to blog comments describes.
Read next
The blog post template also comes with a Blog posts section under this one, with the heading Read next and a row of other posts from the same blog. Posts that share a tag with this one come first, then the newest. Change or remove it as its own section.
