Every product page uses the Default product template until you assign another one. A template is the list of sections and blocks a page shows. Create a second template when a group of products needs other sections, such as gift cards that need no product details.
Templates that come with Checkmate
Checkmate comes with two product templates besides Default product, ready to assign:
gift-card, for gift card products, with buttons for the card's amounts and no product metrics, subscription choices or pickup. Sell gift cards describes it.
gear, a shorter page with the Highlights, Testimonials and FAQ sections and related products under Product information, and no Facts, Marquee, Specifications or Video sections.
Change either one in the editor like any other template, or create your own.
Leave the template named quick-view unassigned. It holds what the quick view popup on product cards shows, and a product that uses it shows its page laid out like the popup. A product page looks like a popup explains how to fix a product that has it.
In your Shopify admin, open a product, select your new template under Theme template, and click Save. Products you do not change keep Default product.
Changes after you create it
Each template keeps its own sections from then on. A section you add to Default product later does not show on products that use the new template, so add it to both if both need it. Theme settings, such as Color settings and Typography settings, apply to every template.
