Connect the Facts, Specifications and Marquee sections to product metafields, and each product page shows that product's own figures, details and scrolling items. A product without a value hides the figure or the row, so you can use one product template for products that have different details.
You need a product metafield definition for each detail, such as Altitude or Roast, and its value entered on each product's page in the Shopify admin. For Facts and Specifications, use the type Single line text or a number type such as Integer or Decimal. For Marquee, use Multi-line text. Shopify's guide to creating metafield definitions and Shopify's guide to adding values to metafields explain how.
The default product template needs the sections you want to connect. It has Facts and Specifications in every style. Only the Checkmate style has Marquee there. A style is the starting look you picked when you added the theme, and Theme styles compares them.
Connect the figures in Facts
The Facts section shows up to four figures. Each Figure block has a Value that you connect to a metafield, a Unit such as m or days, and a Label such as Altitude of the farms. The default product template comes with each Value connected to a metafield of the demo products, such as custom.altitude_m in the Checkmate style. If your products do not have that metafield, connect the figure to one of yours, or create the same metafield and enter its value on each product. The section stays hidden on your store until a product has a value for at least one figure.
At the top of the editor, select Products, then Default product.
In the Facts section, select the first Figure block.
Next to Value, click the Connect dynamic source icon. A list of the product's details and metafields opens.
Select the metafield for this figure. The preview shows the value of the product you are viewing.
Optional. Enter a Unit and a Label.
Repeat steps 4 to 7 for each Figure block.
Click Save.
A figure whose metafield is empty for a product is left out on that product's page, and the other figures close up. When none of the figures has a value, the section is hidden. In the editor, the section then shows "Add a fact with a value to display this section." in its place.
If the metafield you want is not in the list, check its type in your metafield definitions. Value does not accept a Multi-line text or Rich text metafield.
Connect the rows in Specifications
Each Specification block is one row with a Label and a Value. With the Table style, rows that share the same Group sit together under that group's name.
At the top of the editor, select Products, then Default product.
In the Specifications section, select the first Specification block.
Next to Value, click the Connect dynamic source icon.
In the list that opens, select the metafield for this row.
Repeat steps 4 to 6 for each Specification block.
Click Save.
On your store, a row whose metafield is empty for a product is hidden, and a group with no rows left is hidden too. When no row has a value, the whole section is hidden. The editor keeps empty rows in view, so you can find each row and connect it.
Show each product's items in Marquee
Marquee does not use the dynamic source button. You type the metafield's namespace and key into the section, and each line of the metafield becomes one scrolling item.
At the top of the editor, select Products, then Default product.
Select the Marquee section. If there is none, click Add section and select Marquee.
In Product metafield, enter the metafield's namespace and key, such as custom.selling_points.
Click Save.
On a product that has a value, its lines replace the section's Items. With the Tape style, the second band keeps the section's own Second band items. A product without a value shows the section's Items. When Items is empty too, the section is hidden on that product's page. The Marquee section on the default product template starts with no Items.
