Checkmate has a wishlist built in, with no app. Customers click the heart button on a product page to save the product, and open their saved products from a heart icon in the header. The wishlist is on in every theme style when you install Checkmate.
Where customers keep their wishlist
The wishlist is saved in the customer's browser only. It is not linked to their customer account, so it does not follow them to another device or browser, and it is gone if they clear their browser data. You cannot see customers' wishlists in your Shopify admin.
Show the heart button
The heart button sits on the top right corner of the product photos, on the product page and in quick view, the popup that opens a product from a product card. Product cards in collections and other sections have no heart.
At the top of the editor, select Products, then Default product.
In the Product information section, select the Media block.
Turn on Show wishlist button.
Click Save.
In the Featured product section, the setting is in the Buy buttons block, and the heart sits on the top right corner of the photo there too.
Open the wishlist
Customers open their wishlist from two places:
The heart icon in the header, which shows how many products are saved. It shows when Wishlist icon is on in the Header section.
The heart in the bottom navigation bar on screens narrower than 1,000 px. It shows when Wishlist icon is on in the Mobile bottom navigation section.
Both are on by default. If you turn off both, customers can still save products, but no button opens the list.
The list opens in a drawer from the right side of the screen. Each saved product shows its photo, title, price and the start of its description, with a button to remove it. A product with one variant has a button that adds it to the cart. A product with several variants has a button that opens quick view, so customers choose a variant first. A sold-out product shows "Sold out". A product you delete from your store drops out of the list.
Change the empty wishlist
The drawer is the Wishlist section in the Overlays group of the editor sidebar. When the list is empty, it shows a heading, a message and a button. Change their text and the button's link in the Wishlist section. To show a row of products under them, choose a Collection in the section's Product carousel block. The Wishlist section describes each setting.
