Media card block

On this page

The Media card block is a card with a photo, a heading and a short paragraph. To add one, click Add block in a Section, Card rail, Contact form, Offcanvas drawer, Orbit, Share, Subscription or Video section, or inside a Group block or Columns block, and select Media card. Both presets of the Card rail section are built from media cards.

In the first Card rail preset, each card sits on a panel with a small round photo at the top.

Setting

What it does

Image

The photo. With On a panel and Plain, it is cropped to a circle. Without a photo, the card shows an empty gray circle, or an empty gray card with Photo cover.

Heading

Bold words start a second line in heavier letters, and the words before them show thinner. With Photo cover, bold words stay on the same line.

Text

A short paragraph under the heading. Line breaks you type show on the page. With Photo cover, it shows at most two lines.

Tags

Short labels under the paragraph, such as Floral, Citrus. Separate tags with commas. Each tag shows in capital letters inside a thin rounded outline. Leave it empty to show no tags.

Link

Makes the whole card a link. With Photo cover, it also adds an arrow in a circle in the bottom right corner of the card.

Leave Heading, Text and Tags empty to show the photo alone. Headings show in capital letters when Uppercase headings is on in Typography settings.

Layout

Width sets how wide the card is. Text column keeps it to a centered column up to 864 px wide. Page width, the default, matches Page width in Layout settings. Full width runs from edge to edge of the section. In a Card rail, or inside a Group or Columns block, the card never grows past the space it has there.

Style

Style sets how the card looks.

What the card shows

On a panel (default)

A rounded light gray panel, which turns dark in dark mode. A 130 px round photo sits in the top left corner, and the heading and paragraph sit at the bottom of the panel.

Plain

No panel. A larger round photo, 264 px across, with the heading and paragraph centered under it.

Photo cover

A tall rounded card filled with the photo, with the heading and paragraph in white over a dark shade along its bottom edge. On a linked photo cover, the photo zooms in a little while the pointer is over the card.
