While your store is private, every visitor sees the password page instead of your store. It shows your logo, a heading, your message, and a field for the store password. Use it before launch, so only people you give the password to can look around.
The page comes with no header, no footer and no email signup form.
Make your store private
In your Shopify admin, go to Online Store > Preferences. In the Store access section, turn on Private mode and enter the password visitors need. In Message to your visitors, enter the text the password page shows under its heading, such as the date you open. Shopify's guide to restricting access has each step.
In the editor sidebar, select the Password section.
Optional. In Heading, enter the page's heading. Left empty, it reads "This shop is private".
Optional. Under Image, choose a photo.
Click Save.
With a photo, the page is split in two on screens 768 px wide or wider. The photo fills the left half, and the logo, heading, message and password field sit in the right half, lined up along its left edge. On phones, the photo sits at the top. Without a photo, everything is centered on the page.
Where the logo comes from
The page shows the logo from Logo image in Logo settings. If that is empty, it shows the logo from your store's brand settings in your Shopify admin. If neither is set, it shows your store's name.
