The Logo settings hold your store's logo and decide how big it shows and how it looks on a dark background. To find them, open the theme editor. In the editor sidebar, click Theme settings, then select Logo.
The group has three settings, and the logo they set shows at the left of the header.
Where the logo shows
At the left of the header, on every page. Without a logo image, the header shows your store's name as text.
At the top of the mobile menu that opens from the menu icon on a phone.
At the top of the side menu, the Offcanvas drawer section. It shows there at a fixed height of 14 px.
On the password page, above the password field, up to 40 px tall. Without a logo image, the password page uses the logo you uploaded to your Shopify brand settings, and then your store's name.
The gift card page that a buyer receives does not use this logo. It shows the logo from your brand settings in the Shopify admin, or a plain card picture when there is none. Shopify's guide to brand assets explains where to upload it.

What it does
Logo image
Your logo. Use a file with a transparent background, such as a PNG. With Make logo light on dark on, a logo on a solid background turns into a white rectangle on dark backgrounds. The header shows it at the Logo height and up to 200 px wide, or 40% of the screen width on a narrow phone. A wider logo shows shorter, so it never stretches.
Logo height
How tall the logo is in the header and the mobile menu, from 8 px to 48 px. The width follows from your image's shape. The Checkmate style uses 14 px, Lair 16 px and Fang 22 px.
Make logo light on dark
Shows the logo as a white silhouette wherever it sits on a dark background. Every colored part of the logo turns white, so a logo in two colors becomes one white shape. On in all three styles.
When the logo turns white
With Make logo light on dark on, the logo shows in white in these places:
In dark mode, everywhere the logo shows. Dark mode is the darker set of colors a visitor gets from Color mode in Color settings or from the light and dark switch in the header.
In the header, while a section with Dark moment turns the page dark as it passes the middle of the screen. Section motion settings explains Dark moment.
In the header, while it is transparent over the photo or video that opens the page, set with Transparent over the hero in the Header section. The logo returns to its own colors when the header reaches the top edge of the screen as the visitor scrolls, or when the visitor points at it, because the header then gets its solid background.
A logo from your brand settings on the password page keeps its own colors.
Turn the setting off if your logo already reads well on dark backgrounds, or if its colors matter more than its contrast. With it off, a dark logo can be hard to see in dark mode. My logo turns white or loses its colors covers the choices.
