Facts section

The Facts section shows a heading over a row of up to four large numbers, such as an altitude, a score or a delivery time. Each number has a small unit after it and a short label under it, and thin lines separate the figures. To add one, click Add section in the editor and select one of the two Facts presets. It works on any page, and Checkmate's default product page has one under the product.

On a product page, each figure can show a value from the product's metafields, so every product shows its own numbers. Fill product sections with each product's details shows how to connect them, and How each product gets its own content explains the idea.

Presets

The Add section list shows two presets. Each one is a starting point, and its settings can change it into any of the others.

Layout

Alignment, Padding top, Padding bottom, Margin top and Margin bottom are explained in Section layout settings. Alignment also lines up the figures, so a centered alignment gives a centered row.

Background

The background settings are explained in Section background settings.

Content

Heading sits above the figures. Leave it empty to show the figures alone.

Motion

Dark moment, Rise on scroll and Chapter title are explained in Section motion settings.

Blocks

Each figure is a Figure block. A section holds up to four. On screens narrower than 768 px, the figures show two to a row.

Setting

What it does

Value

The large number, such as 86.5 or 1 850. It never breaks across two lines. To show each product's own number, connect a product metafield with the Connect dynamic source icon next to the field, as Shopify's guide to showing metafields explains. Leave it empty to hide the figure.

Unit

A short unit after the number, such as m, pts or days.

Label

A short line of small text under the number.

Empty figures

A figure with an empty Value does not show. If no figure has a value, the section does not appear on your store, and the editor shows the message "Add a fact with a value to display this section." in its place.

The Facts section on Checkmate's default product page has four figures. Their values come from four product metafields of the demo store: custom.altitude_m, custom.cup_score, custom.drying_days and custom.brew_ratio. A new store has none of them, so the section stays hidden on your product pages. To show it, give your products values in these metafields, connect each Value to a metafield of your own, or type a value in.
