The Testimonials section on a product page can show quotes about that product, in place of the quotes every product shares. You store the quotes on the product in your Shopify admin, so each product page shows its own.
These quotes are entries you write or copy in yourself. To show the average rating and review count from a reviews app, see Show ratings from a reviews app.
Create the quote entry
In your Shopify admin, create a metaobject definition named Review. A metaobject definition is the form that each quote fills in. Shopify's guide to building a metaobject explains how. Give it these three fields.
Field
Key
Type
Shows on the page
Author
author
Single line text
The customer's name
Title
title
Single line text
A short line such as Ordered twice
Text

Multi-line text
The quote, as plain text with its line breaks
The theme reads each field by its key, so the keys must match the table exactly. Use Multi-line text for the quote, because a Rich text quote does not show as formatted text.
Add the list to your products
In your Shopify admin, create a product metafield definition named Reviews, with the namespace and key custom.reviews. For its type, select Metaobject, then the Review definition, and allow a list of values rather than one value. Shopify's guide to creating metafield definitions explains each step.
The Testimonials section on the default product page already reads custom.reviews. Check it, or set it if you chose another key.
The section has two layouts that show the same quotes differently. The Checkmate and Fang styles use Quote, and the Lair style uses Grid. A style is the starting look you picked when you added the theme.

One. With two or more quotes, dots below move to the next.

The quote, then the author, then the title in small text
The title as a heading, then the quote, then the author
At the top of the editor, select Products, then Default product.
Select the Testimonials section. If there is none, click Add section and select Testimonials.
In List metafield, enter the metafield's namespace and key, such as custom.reviews.
Under Layout, select Quote or Grid.
Click Save.
On a product with quotes, they replace all of the section's Testimonial blocks. A product without quotes shows the blocks. The default product page has no Testimonial blocks, so only products with quotes show the section. In Grid, the section's Statistic blocks still show above the quotes on every product, and with Show product rating on, a product with a rating from a reviews app shows the section too.
