Show local pickup availability

The Pickup availability block tells customers whether they can collect the selected variant from one of your locations instead of having it shipped. It goes in the Product information section of the product page, usually under the add to cart button.

At least one of your locations needs to offer local pickup. Shopify's guide to local pickup shows how to turn it on.

What customers see

The block shows one line with a location's name, such as Pickup available at Downtown. It picks a location that has the variant in stock, when there is one. Under the line, it shows how soon an order is usually ready, when that location has a pickup time. When no pickup location has the variant in stock, the line reads Pickup currently unavailable at Downtown.

A link under it, Check availability at other stores, opens a panel. The panel lists every location that offers pickup, with whether the variant is available there and the location's address and phone number.

The block changes when the customer selects another variant. When no location offers pickup for the variant, the block hides.

Add the block

The default product page of the Checkmate style already has this block, under Buy buttons. The Lair and Fang styles do not. A style is the starting look you picked when you added the theme.

  1. In your Shopify admin, go to Online Store.
  2. Next to Checkmate, click Edit theme.
  3. At the top of the editor, select Products, then Default product.
  4. In the Product information section, click Add block.
  5. Select Pickup availability.
  6. Drag the block to just after Buy buttons in the list of blocks.
  7. Click Save.

The block has no settings. In the editor, it stays hidden while no location offers pickup for the product you preview, so preview a product that is stocked at a pickup location.

The Featured product section has the same block, and its preset includes it.

The quick view popup does not show pickup unless you add this block to its template too, as Let customers add to cart from product cards describes.
