Features section

The Features section shows columns that each have an icon, a short heading, a line of text and an optional button. Use it for the promises customers look for, such as delivery times, returns or secure checkout. To add one, click Add section in the editor and select one of the three Features presets. It works on any page and in the footer, but not in the header. Checkmate's footer already has one, with four columns above the footer's links.

Layout

Alignment, Padding top, Padding bottom, Margin top and Margin bottom are explained in Section layout settings. Alignment also moves the icon, the heading and the text inside each column. With Columns, a centered alignment centers each column's content.

Background

The background settings are explained in Section background settings.

Setting

What it does

Style

Columns puts the icon above the heading, then the text and the button. Compact puts the icon to the left of a smaller heading and the text, with no button. Marquee shows only the icons and the headings, in one line that scrolls sideways. Panels shows each column's Icon image as a tall photo, all in one row, with the heading on a rounded label in the bottom left corner of the photo.

Columns

How many columns sit side by side, from 1 to 6. The default is 3. On narrower screens, the section shows fewer columns so they do not get too narrow. Hidden with Marquee and Panels.

Heading, Link and Button label

A heading above the columns, and a link at its end. The link shows only when Link and Button label both have a value.

Width

Text column keeps the columns in a narrow band in the middle. Page width uses the page's usual width. Full width has no width limit, so the columns spread across the whole width of a large screen.

Icon style

Plain shows the icon on its own. Circle puts it in a large light circle. Chip puts it in a small light square with rounded corners. Photo frame shows the column's Icon image as a tall photo with rounded corners, as wide as the column. Hidden with Panels, which always uses photos.

Icon size

S, M or L. The default is M.

Card style

Plain keeps the columns open. Outlined puts each column in a box with a thin border and rounded corners. Hidden with Marquee and Panels.

Show dividers

Draws thin lines between the columns. Shows when Card style is Plain, and with Marquee. Hidden with Panels.

Heading on the photo

Puts the heading on a rounded label in the page's background color, in the bottom left corner of the photo, instead of under it. The label holds one line, so keep the heading short and leave the column's Text empty. A column without an Icon image keeps its heading under the icon. Shows when Icon style is Photo frame and Style is not Panels.

Show a level meter

Adds a row of small dots under each heading, as many dots as there are columns. The first column fills one dot, the second two, and so on, so the last column fills them all. Use it for steps that rise, such as heat levels. It shows only with two or more columns, at most ten dots, and not with Marquee.

Marquee

These settings show with Marquee.

Setting

What it does

Scrolling marquee

Moves the line sideways without stopping. When it is off, the headings stay still and wrap onto more lines if they do not fit.

Scrolling speed

How fast the line moves, from 10 to 120 pixels per second. The default is 40. Shows when Scrolling marquee is on.

Scroll direction

Left or Right. Shows when Scrolling marquee is on.

Pause on hover

Stops the line while the pointer is over it. Shows when Scrolling marquee is on.

Text size

The size of the headings: S, M or L.

For customers whose device is set to reduce motion, the line does not move, and the headings wrap and center instead.

Panels

With Panels, all columns sit in one row of tall photos, between 416 px and 608 px tall depending on the screen. The photo under the pointer or the keyboard focus grows wider, and the others narrow to make room. On screens narrower than 1,000 px, each photo keeps a tall shape and customers swipe the row sideways. The Fang style shows five heat levels this way, with Show a level meter on. Panels show no button. To link a panel, enter its Button link and leave its Button label empty.

Motion

Dark moment, Rise on scroll and Chapter title are explained in Section motion settings.

Blocks

Each column is a Column block. Click Add block in the section to add one.

Setting

What it does

Icon

One of 11 icons, such as Truck, Leaf or Heart. None shows no icon.

Icon image

An image to use in place of the icon, such as your own icon file. A square image works best. With Panels or the Photo frame icon style, it is the column's photo instead, cropped to fill a tall frame, so give every column one.

Text

A line or two of small text under the heading. Hidden with Marquee.

Button label and Button link

A small filled button under the text. It shows only with Columns. Button label is hidden with Compact. With Marquee or Compact, and in any column with an empty Button label, Button link makes the whole column a link.

If no column has an icon, an image, a heading or text, the section shows nothing, in the editor too.
